Inner Splendor Media is proud to present Melodies from the Heart: Classical Indian Flute and Mohan Veena. This album features exquisite instumental songs, or gita, in eight different ragas. In Indian classical music, a raga (literally translated as “color” or “hue”) is a melodic mode or series of notes within which a body of music is composed and performed.

On this album, Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Grammy Award winner and creator of the Mohan Veena, joins virtuoso brothers Raman Kalyan and Mysore V. Srikanth to bring you the very best of classical Indian music.

Vishwa Mohan traces his musical lineage back to a man named Tansen, a beloved court musician to the Mughal Emperor Akbar, who lived during the 16th century in India. Tansen was known for his legendary command of raga. It was said that his music could captivate any heart, and even summon the elements. To this day, Tansen’s tradition of mastery continues, and our varied emotions and moods are yet activated by the mystical power of raga.
